Dietrich Bonhoeffer once wrote, "When Christ calls a man, he bids him to come and die." In Mark 8:31 - 9:13, we see that after telling his disciples that he himself came to die, Jesus calls them to do the same. And should they balk at such a cost, he gives a few of them an experience to show them that it will all be worth it. Title from Bonhoeffer.
