Pray for John Hay
"But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare." - Jeremiah 29:7 (ESV).
Join us as we spend some time praying for the students, faculty and staff of John Hay after service. We’ll meet in Room 183.
Send-Off Sunday
Send-Off Sunday will be an opportunity for us to hear from and pray for those in our church who are moving away in the next season. University Circle is a very transient place and while it is sad to say goodbye, we are excited to send you off to the places God has called you, taking the Gospel with you.
Whether you are graduating from high school, college, grad school, or are moving for a new job or any other reason, we would love to hear what you are doing next. To that end, if you are moving, please fill out this form so that we can make sure to connect with you before you go.
And after service, join us for desserts!
Chili Potluck
Back by popular demand, join us for a church-wide chili potluck on Saturday, April 13! The event is scheduled for 4-7pm at The Loft in Solon (31200 Solon Rd), and the plan is to eat together, hang out, and get to know each other better. The location also has inflatables and basketball hoops so kids can run around and play.
If you are planning on coming and able, please sign up to bring either a crockpot of chili, bread/cornbread, a side, or a dessert. We'll provide the plates, bowls, utensils, and drinks. If you are unable to bring something, please don't let that hinder you from coming. We'd still love to have you.
The Loft is located at 31200 Solon Rd. in Solon. Once you find the driveway off Solon Rd., follow it all the way to the back, where you'll find parking and the entrance.

Join us on Sunday, March 31 at 10am at John Hay as we remember and celebrate the resurrection of Jesus! There will be children’s ministry as usual.
Good Friday Service
Join us on Friday, March 29, at 6:30pm at John Hay High School for a service to remember and reflect upon Christ’s death on the cross. There will not be children’s ministry at this service, but kids are welcome.
Ladies at Luna
We are excited to announce another event for the women of Parkside Heights and their friends. We’ll be hosting a women’s gathering on Wednesday, February 28 from 7-9pm at Luna Bakery & Cafe in Cleveland Heights. Come for an evening of coffee, tea, pastries and conversation- and bring a friend or make a new one! The coffee, tea, and pastries will be free, and you’ll also be able to purchase specialty beverages if you’d like to. Space is limited so please register early!
Lunch and Learn
A free lunch and chance to learn more about Parkside Heights!
While some have been around since the beginning of Parkside Heights, others have started attending sometime later along the way. And we are thrilled that you have! But we figure you might have some questions about the church, both why we started it and what we want it to be about.
With this in mind, we'll be hosting a Lunch & Learn on Sunday, February 4 after our 10am morning service, where we'll eat together and then discuss the history and priorities of Parkside Heights, giving you a chance to ask any question you might have.
If you are planning on attending, please register by January 29 so we can plan accordingly!
Coffee Downtown
Do you work downtown and want to connect with other folks from Parkside Heights who do too? Then join us at 2pm on January 25 in the Arcade! Questions? Contact Mike Kan.
Celebrating 2 Years!
Join us on Sunday, January 21 as we celebrate two years of Sunday services at Parkside Heights! Our first ever service was on January 23, 2022, and we look forward to thanking God together for the last two years. And there will be cupcakes :).
New Year’s Eve with Parkside Westside
Due to the Cleveland Metropolitan School District being closed on New Year’s Eve, we are not able to rent the John Hay auditorium on Sunday, December 31. With that in mind, we’ll be joining our sister church at Parkside Church Westside in Lakewood for their Sunday morning services. They have services at 9am and 10:30am.
We are thankful for Parkside Westside allowing us to join them!
Christmas Eve Service
Due to the Cleveland Metropolitan School District being closed on Christmas Eve, we are not able to rent the John Hay auditorium on Sunday, December 24. With that in mind, on Christmas Eve, we will not be having a morning service but will instead gather at 6pm for a Parkside Heights Christmas Eve Service at Cedar Hill Baptist Church. We are thankful to the congregation there for letting us use their building!
There will not be any childcare at this service, but all kids are welcome!
Host International Students for Thanksgiving
Want to serve and bless students from foreign countries who are studying at Case and other schools? Would you consider having a couple of them over to your house to share in your Thanksgiving meal? Many international students have never set foot in an American home: we have an opportunity to welcome them and love them in the name of Christ. Interested? E-mail Yang Sun of International Friends or e-mail Milka Hanook of Intervarsity.
Name Amnesty Sunday
Have you ever met someone at Parkside Heights and then totally forget their name? This Sunday is for you. Join us on November 12 for Name Amnesty Sunday, where everyone is free to ask anyone to remind them of their name. We’ll also have nametags and donuts 😊. Thanks to Parkside Westside and Tim Chester for the idea!
Church Matters Annual Meeting
Our annual state of the church meeting. This meeting is for everyone, both those who are part of the core of the church and those curious about the church. We will give a financial update, talk about where we are in our development process, and talk about our plans for the future. It will be held in the auditorium at John Hay after service.
Welcome Back Cookout
Join us after service on Sunday, September 10 for a cookout to welcome back our college students! We will provide the food (hot dogs, hamburgers, veggie burgers), along with drinks. We’ll host the cookout behind the school near the football field. Please bring a chair or blanket if you have one for seating!
Return to John Hay!
After having our worship service for 5 weeks at the Cleveland Institute of Music, our plan is to return to John Hay on Sunday, August 27. The service will still be at 10am. This Sunday will also mark the return of all classes of our kids’ ministry.
Community Group Interest Meeting
Our Community Groups are the engine of life together at Parkside Heights, and are where we study the Bible, pray, encourage one another, and equip one another for life and gospel conversations. These small groups meet the first 3 weeks of every month in local homes and will be starting again the week of August 21. We have groups in Cleveland Heights, Shaker Heights, University Heights/Beachwood, and Mayfield Heights on different nights of the week.
Join us on Sunday, August 13, after service for a Community Group Interest Meeting, where you’ll have the chance to meet the leaders of the groups and potentially find one that works for your schedule. Or, if you’d prefer, you can find a group close to you and sign up online.
Outdoor Service & Potluck
Join us on Sunday, July 9 at Horseshoe Lake Park in Shaker Heights for an outdoor service and church potluck! Provided we have good weather, we'll meet at 10am at the park for a church service (please bring a blanket or lawn chairs for seating) and then afterwards, we'll enjoy a potluck lunch together in the pavilion. We will not be offering childcare at the park, but there is a playground there should you need to use it :).
For the potluck, as long as you are able, please bring a dish to share. If you have kids or any dietary restrictions, you can bring something to share that your kids would eat or that would match your dietary restrictions. We'll provide the paper products and drinks.
SUNDAY UPDATE: The outdoor service & potluck are on! Thankful for good enough weather!
Send-Off Sunday Cookout
As the semester draws to a close, we will be saying good-bye to a number of students for the summer, as well as some others who will be moving to new locations. Join us on Sunday May 7 for send-off Sunday, as we pray for those who will be leaving, and then have a cookout at John Hay after service.
Please bring a lawn chair or blanket with you to church on May 7, so you have a place to sit and eat. If the weather is bad, we will still have service, but will postpone the cookout. Due to the weather forecast, the cookout has been postponed. But we will still have service and some desserts inside afterwards!
Welcome Team Interest Meeting
We are looking for more volunteers to help us welcome people on Sunday mornings. Do you have any interest in helping? If so, join us for an interest meeting on Sunday, April 30 right after service. We’ll talk through what is involved in serving on the Welcome Team and try to answer any questions you might have.
If you are interested in serving, but can’t make this meeting, please email Dave Schillero and he can connect with you at a time that works for you.
Appetizers & Desserts
Join us from 4-7pm on Saturday, April 1 for a church-wide evening of fun! We’ll hang out, eat together, and enjoy each other’s company. The event will be held at a facility called The Loft (31200 Solon Rd., Solon): when you arrive at this address, take the driveway all the way to the back of the parking lot, where you will find the venue.
If your last name begins with A - M, please bring an appetizer. If it begins with N-Z, please bring a dessert.
Kids of all ages are welcome. The facility has a few basketball hoops and other fun games for them to play while there.
Music and A/V Team Interest Meeting
Are you interested in serving on our music team or our A/V team? We are looking for more volunteers to both play in our band and run sound and slides on Sunday mornings. This meeting will take place right after service on Sunday, January 29, and will involve going through what is involved in serving on these teams and answering any questions you might have.
If you are interested in serving, but can’t make this meeting, please email Peter Lindia and he can connect with you at a time that works for you.
