Outdoor Service & Church Potluck: July 24

Join us on Sunday, July 24 at Horseshoe Lake Park in Shaker Heights for an outdoor service and church potluck! Provided we have good weather, we'll meet at 10am at the park for a church service (please bring a blanket or lawn chairs for seating) and then afterwards, we'll enjoy a potluck lunch together in the pavilion. We will not be offering childcare at the park, but there is a playground there should you need to use it :).

For the potluck, as long as you are able, please bring a dish to share. If you have kids or any dietary restrictions, you can bring something to share that your kids would eat or that would match your dietary restrictions. We'll provide the paper products and drinks.

Should the weather not be favorable, we will meet at John Hay as usual at 10am that morning for our service (where we would offer childcare) and cancel the potluck. Please check our website (parksideheights.org) or social media (@parksideheights on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook) on the night of Saturday, July 23 to confirm where we will be meeting.

Summer in Children's Ministry

Thank you to everyone who is has so faithfully been serving in children's ministry for the last 6 months! We appreciate your willingness to serve once every three weeks to make this ministry happen.

As we announced this past Sunday, there will be no school-age class (grades 1-5) during the month of July. Kids who are normally in this class are welcomed to join us in the service. We will, however, continue to offer childcare for birth-kindergarten. On Sunday August 7, the school-age class will resume and kids will move up to whatever grade they will be entering in the Fall.

We are always looking for more helpers in the children's ministry, so if you are interested in serving (in this ministry or on any of our other service teams), please fill out this form to indicate your interest and we will contact you about next steps.

Pray for John Hay: July 17

We are really grateful that John Hay has opened its doors to us and allowed to use their auditorium and classrooms on Sundays. And we'd like to not just use their space, but be a blessing to them while we are there. Towards this end, we are going to be having a prayer time for the school on Sunday, July 17 at 11:15am after service in Room 182. We'll pray for the administration, the staff, and the students, and ask God that he would help us know how to serve them in practical ways. We would love to have you join us if you can!
