Sundays Back at John Hay!
After 5 great weeks at the Cleveland Institute of Music, we will be returning to John Hay High School this Sunday, August 27! John Hay is located a few minutes away from CIM on the other side of University Circle at 2075 Stokes Boulevard, Cleveland. Free parking is available in the school lots on both Carnegie Ave. and Stokes Blvd.
If you are a Case or CIM student and you’d like to walk over to John Hay with other students, you can meet up at The Coffee House at 9:25am. An upperclassman will be there to meet you (and buy you a free coffee!). If it is raining, some of the students have cars and will be able to give you a ride.
For parents, this Sunday marks the return of all classes of our Kids’ Ministry. Ages birth - 4 can go to their classrooms at the beginning of service, while grades K-5 will be dismissed to their class right before the sermon.
As with our last Sunday move, we could use your help in spreading the word. Please forward this email to anyone who you think might need it and consider sharing our social media posts with others as well. Also, we recognize that there are some in our congregation who don't regularly check email or social media, so if you know someone like that, please call them and let them know of the change.
We are really thankful to CIM for their graciousness to us during our time there and we look forward to being back at John Hay!
Community Groups Resume this Week!
Our Community Groups are the engine of life together at Parkside Heights, and are where we study the Bible, pray, encourage one another, and equip one another for life and gospel conversations. These small groups meet the first 3 weeks of every month in local homes and are starting again for the Fall this week! We have groups in Cleveland Heights, Shaker Heights, University Heights/Beachwood, and Mayfield Heights on different nights of the week. Some of our groups have childcare.
We really believe that these groups will help you feel more connected to the church and help you get into deeper and more meaningful relationships with others. You can join at any time. Visit parksideheights.org/community to learn more.
Welcome Back Cookout - September 10
One of the wonderful things about the place where God has led us to meet is our proximity to a number of colleges and universities in Cleveland. We are delighted to be within walking distance of Case Western Reserve, the Cleveland Institute of Music, the Cleveland Institute of Art and a short drive from Cleveland State and John Carroll. Our desire is to be a home away from home for students who attend these schools, whether they are undergrads, medical, dental, music or other grad students, from the United States or another country.
Towards that end, we are going to be having a Welcome Back Cookout after service on Sunday, September 10 near the football field at John Hay. The idea is to give us a chance to hang out with each other a little longer than usual, reconnecting with the students who have been away and getting to know those who are new to the area. The cookout is free! Please bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on if you have one. We hope you'll be able to join us!
