Jesus has freed believers from the slavery of worshiping false gods as well as the slavery of trying to earn a right relationship with the true God. Yet, it is distinctly possible for Christians, having tasted freedom, to slip back into bondage. In Galatians 5:1-12, Paul urges us to "stand firm, therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery" (Galatians 5:1, ESV).
