In Ephesians 6:12, Paul says, "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places" (ESV). In Mark 9:14-29 Jesus will show and teach us that on our own efforts, we will never be able to overcome the spiritual forces of evil in this world. But, by faith in a powerful God who has authority over all things, we can find freedom.
