May 7 - Send-off Sunday
With the semester drawing to a close, we will be saying good-bye to a number of students for the summer, as well as some other people who will be moving to new locations. As such, we want to send them off with our prayers! So join us on May 7 for Send-off Sunday, as we pray for those who will be leaving, and then have a free cookout at John Hay after service.
Since there is not much outdoor seating at John Hay, please bring a lawn chair or blanket with you to church this Sunday, so you can have a place to sit and eat. If the weather is bad, we will still have service, but will postpone the cookout.
Summer in Kids’ Ministry
With summer break just around the corner, we also wanted to let you know about our plans for our Kids' Ministry. For the months of June and July, we will not be offering the school-age class on Sundays (grades 1-5), and will have these children join us in the auditorium for the service. This change will allow us to more effectively staff the other two children's classes, pre-K and nursery, which will continue to meet throughout the summer.
Promotion Sunday is schedule for August 6, where all classes will meet again, and our children will move up to whatever level class matches their grade for the Fall. And those entering 6th grade are invited to start attending Heights Students, our ministry to middle schoolers and high schoolers!
Digital Bulletin
Many of you may already be aware of this, but as a mechanism to help communicate what is happening at Parkside Heights week-by-week, we have introduced a Digital Bulletin. The bulletin contains information about upcoming events and prayer requests for the church. You can access it a couple of different ways:
